Get Involved at BICC

BICC emphasizes that a strong and vibrant Islamic community depends on the active involvement of community members in governance, committees, events, educational programs, volunteer service, and outreach initiatives. Brothers and sisters are encouraged to contribute their time, skills, ideas, and professional experience to help strengthen the mission of BICC and serve the broader community.

Events Committee

Provide and organize indoor and outdoor sports, recreation, entertainment, picnics, and outdoor activities.
Provide cultural, social, and sports activities for children, adults, and families, including Eid activities, family nights, health/blood drives, civic engagement, fine arts classes, picnics, fitness and sports tournaments, job networking, drug awareness, and more.
Arrange volunteers to support BICC activities.
Coordinate activities with both the Education Committee and the Events Committee.

Education Committee

Develop programs to meet religious needs in conformity with Islamic beliefs based on the Qur’an and Sunnah.
Formulate a broad Islamic education program for the BICC constituency.
Encourage Muslims to learn and practice basic and higher-level knowledge of Islam.
Facilitate classes, lectures, workshops, seminars, and topics including Qur’an, Sunnah, Seerah, Tafseer, Islamic history, Hadith, Usul ul-Fiqh, Aqeedah, Arabic studies, and more.
Develop plans for weekend schools and after-school programs.

Building Committee

Supervise construction projects approved by the Board.
Ensure building safety and security.
Ensure building maintenance.
Supervise and work with cleaning staff.
Schedule events in the Social Room and Conference Room.
Make special arrangements according to seasonal and climate requirements.
Make necessary upgrades for audio/video equipment in the Center.

Technology Committee

Review and approve BICC’s technology planning and strategy.
Review significant technology investments and expenditures.
Monitor and evaluate existing and future technology trends that may affect BICC’s strategic plans, including overall industry trends.

Food Pantry Committee

Efficient operation of the food pantry and soup kitchen.
Maintain social room cleanliness.
Manage food storage.
Coordinate food delivery.
Keep a fiscally responsible budget that does not depend on the Center.

Take executive decisions in cases of emergencies.
Maintain a healthy committee system.

Conduct ongoing assessment of committee effectiveness.
